The annual 3-day La Mesa Oktoberfest is September 28th through the 30th in the downtown village. Last year’s Oktoberfest drew upwards of 100,000 revelers to its beer gardens, kids’ fun zones and more than 100 vendors along La Mesa Boulevard and arterial streets on the east side of Spring Street.
This year’s main beer garden will be enclosed by a chain link fence inside the Allison Avenue Municipal Parking Lot and will include live music, dancing, games, contests and food vendors.
A second area set aside for alcohol service will be an enclosed craft spirit garden located on 3rd Street, from La Mesa Boulevard south to the mid-block alley. The garden will feature a disc jockey playing music, craft cocktails, various table games and corn hole.
The parking lot of Sheldon’s Service Station on La Mesa Boulevard will host another craft beer garden.
New this year will be a dog-friendly area called Dachshund Village, to include dog races, a fashion show and dog adoptions, and a craft tent with 15 tables inside.
One of the event’s two kids’ fun zone areas has been moved from the Palm Avenue Parking Lot to Palm Avenue between La Mesa Boulevard and Allison Avenue. Food trucks and a seating area will be in that parking lot this year.
The La Mesa Oktoberfest is brought to you by the La Mesa Village Association.
