New to the site: The Taco Party returns to the San Diego Museum of Art on Sunday, November 1, 2026 from noon to 4pm, held in the Museum’s May S. Marcy Sculpture Court and Garden in Balboa Park.
Designed as a fun, welcoming celebration for all ages, The Taco Party brings unlimited street-style taco tastings from participating local restaurants and taco vendors, live music, a themed photo booth, and interactive art-making activities led by Museum educators. One complimentary Panama 66 margarita, beer, or agua fresca is included with each ticket, with additional beverages available for purchase.
The Taco Party is part of Día de los Muertos at SDMA, a day of community centered on a special ofrenda created with this season’s Visiting Artist, Betsabeé Romero, transforming the Museum into a tribute to remembrance and celebration. Both SDMA and MOPA@SDMA are free and open to the public that day (SDMA 10am-5pm, MOPA@SDMA 11am-5pm), with additional art on view from Romero alongside Mexican masters including Diego Rivera, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, and Rufino Tamayo. The event also continues the Museum’s year-long centennial celebration marking 100 years of SDMA serving the community.
Tickets are $50 for Members, $60 for Nonmembers, and $20 for Youth (ages 0-6); nonmember sales opened August 10, 2026.
