The Adams Halloween Haunt brings costumes, candy and fall festivities to Adams Avenue on Saturday, October 31, 2026. More than 40 participating businesses along the avenue hand out treats to trick-or-treaters, making it an easy, walkable Halloween outing for families in University Heights, Normal Heights and Kensington.
The day also features a social media costume contest with cash prizes of $100, $50 and $25 in four categories: best family or group costume, best children’s costume, best adult costume and best pet costume. To enter, pose in front of the Halloween Haunt poster at any participating location and tag @adamsavesd. Entries are due by 6pm on October 31, and winners are announced on Monday, November 2.
Hours vary by participating business; look for the Halloween Haunt poster in storefront windows to find where treats are being handed out.
Parking is limited to residential neighborhood streets, and MTS bus routes 2 and 11 serve Adams Avenue.
