New to the site: Liberty Station hosted its first-ever community-wide Fourth of July celebration, “Anchored in Freedom,” on Friday, July 3, 2026, honoring both America’s 250th birthday and Liberty Station’s naval roots.
The parade kicked off at 1 p.m. on Cushing Road, running alongside Liberty Station before the festivities continued at Ingram Plaza. The post-parade festival featured live music from Navy Band Southwest, a letter-writing station for active-duty troops, a wing-eating contest, a costume contest, and other family activities. The event was free and open to the public.
As this was the inaugural year, it’s not yet confirmed whether it will become an annual tradition, though early coverage suggests organizers intend to repeat it.
