New to the site: the 6th Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration transforms Downtown Chula Vista’s Third Avenue and Memorial Park on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 3pm to 7:30pm.
This free, family-friendly community event honors loved ones who have passed while celebrating life, filling the neighborhood with cempasúchil (marigolds), music, art, and tradition. Highlights include an Ofrenda Competition judged across student and general-public categories, a Catrín & Catrina Ensemble contest, live music and dance performances staged at four different locations along Third Avenue, a car show, kids’ crafts, a Mercado by Las Jefas Market featuring artisan vendors, food and treats, themed photo ops throughout the neighborhood, and a Community Ofrenda where visitors are invited to bring a photo of a loved one to pin to the altar at Davidson Street.
