New to the site: the 56th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights runs over two evenings, Sunday, December 13 and Sunday, December 20, 2026, with the theme “Liberty Lights the Bay – Cheers to 250 Years.”
Around 80 lavishly decorated boats depart Shelter Island at 5:30 p.m. and cruise past Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and the Pier at Cesar Chavez Park before wrapping up at the Coronado Ferry Landing around 7:40 p.m. More than 100,000 spectators typically line the shores of San Diego Bay each year to watch.
Good public viewing spots include Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and the Coronado Ferry Landing.
