Solana Beach celebrates Día de los Muertos on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 10am to 5pm at La Colonia Park (715 Valley Ave). Admission is free.
This year’s celebration honors the veterans of La Colonia de Eden Gardens, with veteran photos and a color guard opening ceremony. More than 40 altars remember deceased family and friends, and the Aztec dancers of Danza Coatlique Ceminitzli bless the altars beginning at 10:10am.
The day also includes ballet folklórico performances, mariachi music, a classic car show, costume contests (Catrin/Catrina, dogs, and face masks), children’s crafts, a scavenger hunt, piñatas, and Mexican American food vendors. Those who want their own altar space can email [email protected] to request one.
Parking is limited, and the city encourages carpooling, biking, walking, or public transit.
