New to the site: the inaugural Turf & Surf Festival lands at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club’s Seaside Cabana on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 1-6pm.
The world’s largest kettle steamer arrives in Del Mar to cook up fresh Maine lobster, paired with Brandt Beef steak, alongside a full day of live horse racing (Yellow Ribbon and Best Pal Stakes). Each adult ticket includes racetrack admission, exclusive event entry, five drink tasters (specialty cocktails, wine, or craft beer) with a souvenir cup, and a racing program. A Lobster Feast add-on gets you a 1.25lb steamed lobster with coleslaw, dinner roll, watermelon, and butter dipping sauce — servers do the cracking. Live lobster is flown in on event day; pre-ordering is recommended to guarantee availability.
The event is open to all ages; children 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and kids 10 and under get complimentary entry.
