Festival Mictlan: Celebration of the Underworld takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 2 to 7pm on the Central Promenade at Liberty Station, as part of Latine Pride 2026.
Presented by Latin@x Services at The San Diego LGBT Community Center, the family-centered Día de los Muertos gathering honors Mictlan, the underworld of Mexica tradition, with art, music, and community celebration.
Altars are displayed throughout the festival as part of an altar contest, with cash prizes for the top three. The bilingual community choir Ecos del Mictlán performs an original arrangement alongside Tijuana Queer Coral and Coro Meraki. Admission is free; organizers ask attendees to RSVP in advance.
